Optoma to launch HD LED home cinema projector at Bristol Show

HD91

London, 10 January 2014: Optoma, world-leading manufacturer of award-winning projectors, will unveil its new full HD 3D projector that harnesses ground-breaking LED technology, at Sound & Vision, The Bristol Show.

Visitors to the event will be the first in the UK to see the new HD91 projector in action and will be able to take advantage of spectacular offers exclusive to the show. These live demonstrations will take place in Room 410 on the 4th floor of the Marriott City Centre Hotel.

Optoma’s Head of Product Management, Justin Halls, said: “We are excited to launch the HD91 at Bristol and showcase its features at the event. A huge advantage of this new projector is that it uses the latest LED technology, which offers consistent brightness and colour performance, maintaining its out-of-the-box image quality throughout its lifetime. The perceived brightness from the HD91 can be twice that of an equivalent lamp-based projector. This means it can comfortably handle low levels of ambient light with less impact on image quality than traditional lamp-based systems.”

It is also better for the environment and will ultimately cost less to the consumer. Justin explained: “This projector will not have the inconvenience and cost of frequent lamp changes. It also doesn’t need lengthy warm-up and cool down cycles due to its almost instant start-up and shut-down times. And, because LEDs need less cooling than traditional bulbs, it is almost silent when it is running.”

As the HD91 produces less heat it can be installed closer to walls or ceilings or even built into a small enclosure. The lightweight 7kg and compact size of the HD91 simplifies installation, whilst full lens shift and wide 1.9x zoom range ensures flexibility of placement.

Cinema buffs, TV addicts and keen gamers will be able to experience 3D digital cinema quality in their own homes for Blu-ray, games and TV through the new HD91 projector.

The projector retains perfectly balanced colours and superior image quality on screen sizes of up to 150 inch/380cm (diagonal). Advanced LED switching provides increased image stability that rivals the performance of three chip Digital Light Processing (DLP) projectors. Other new features include:

UltraDetail - Unique image processing gives the impression of near 4K image quality without the artefacts associated with moving pixel systems.

PureMotion4 - The fourth generation of Optoma frame insertion technology gives advanced motion control processing that eliminates motion blurring or image judder, even in high-speed action sequences and 3D modes.

PureColour - Provides balanced colours for vibrant, vivid and natural images. This works in conjunction with the Colour Management System ensuring precise control of the colour reproduction.

Dynamic Black - Now taken to a superior performance level by using ultra-fast LED switching times. This technology dynamically adjusts brightness frame-by-frame to produce deeper blacks for exceptional shadow detail in dark scenes, whilst displaying crisp and clear bright scenes.

The fully-rechargeable ZF2100 wireless 3D glasses have been developed in parallel with the HD91. These are optimised to provide higher contrast and brighter images than ever before, while eliminating any issues of emitter placement, limited range and potential interference commonly experienced when using Infra-red.

Sound and Vision, The Bristol Show takes place from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd February 2014 at the Marriott City Centre Hotel Bristol. In addition to the HD91, Optoma will also be showcasing three other HD models in room 410 – HD30, HD25e and HD25-LV. Representatives from Optoma will be available at the event to discuss the projectors and answer queries visitors may have.
