HeavyM lights up Mixmag LAB London
Challenge:
Mixmag’s LAB London wanted to enhance their electronic music performances using modern day technology. It was imperative that the highest quality and most reliable equipment was installed to impress international audiences.
Solution:
The Optoma EH415ST projector along with an Apple MacBook Pro 15” Mid 2015 computer and three HeavyM Olga kits were used to create an immersive atmosphere.
Results:
The installation was a huge success with crowds drawn to the set-up consisting of moving images mapped around 3D shapes, in-sync with the music playing. With performances live streamed across social media and online, the install helped contribute to several million new views on social media.
The Challenge
Music is one of the leading applications for HeavyM’s solutions and the team have been focusing closely within London’s electronic scene.
Vassilis Skandalis, Senior Designer at Mixmag, wanted to create an original and exclusive permanent scene for the LAB LDN. Mixmag is a leading electronic music magazine who contacted HeavyM and wanted to collaborate to create a modern, contemporary music scene in LAB LDN.
Every year, around forty major music artists perform at the LAB LDN so it was imperative that the technology used would be high quality and reliable. LAB LDN wanted to enhance their electronic music performances using modern day technology to excite crowds and encourage social media sharing to increase brand awareness.
The Solution
Etienne Mathé, Executive Director at HeavyM, selected the Optoma EH415ST projector as the best solution.
With a short throw lens, the EH415ST allowed for an impressive 100” image from just over a metre away, preventing any shadows. Additionally, the bright 3,500 lumen projector produced bold, bright and colourful imagery, making the final piece even more spectacular.
